Matthew Attwood –
I bought this guitar from Angelo around a week ago, and I haven’t been able to put it down since I got it. This has really blown me away. The look and the feel of the guitar seems highly authentic. The aging seems like the guitar was played and gigged for years, and doesn’t seem beat up on purpose or like it was abused. The feel on the neck is especially comfortable in the hand, and going up and down the fretboard is smooth and effortless. The finish and aging on the body is beautiful.
The tone on the handwound pickups is beautiful, and has a depth and character that I’d associate with very few boutique pickup manufacturers. They’re easily on par with or surpassing any humbuckers I’ve heard. The clean tones are rich, with each note having a warmth and clarity to it. When it’s put into a driven amp it doesn’t lose clarity, but gives the kind of bite or crunch you’d expect. Just like the look and feel, the sound of the guitar easily surpassed my expectation.
Even in my collection with a number of custom shop guitars from the big names, this is easily a stand out. If I had to only play one guitar for the rest of my life, it would be this one.
Overall I’m extremely happy with the guitar and I’m very proud to own and play it. Thanks so much for creating this Angelo!
